Gabriella Wilson, better known professionally as H.E.R, is a singer and a songwriter. She comes from a Filipino and African-American background, with her mom being Filipino, and her dad being African-American. When she was 12, Wilson was hailed as a child prodigy and played a masterful cover of Alicia Keys' "No One'' on The Today Show. Before gaining notability as H.E.R, Wilson rose to fame by participating in Radio Disney’s Next Big Thing in 2009. At the age of 21, she won two massive awards: Best R&B Album and Best R&B Performance at the 61st Annual Grammy Awards. Her name H.E.R stands for “Having Everything Revealed”. At a very young age she has released a lot of songs that everyone has enjoyed listening to. At an interview she said, “My dad would throw down with the soul food when we had our black side over. Black culture, to me, is so important and I identify with young black women. I represent young black women, and I’m proud of that.
